Who we are

Hines Industries is an independent software company at 1449 S Michigan Ave #1045, Chicago, IL 60605, United States. In this document “we”, “us” and “our” mean Hines Industries; “the site” means hines.industries.

Using the site

You may read the site, link to it, and quote from it with attribution. You may not attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, scrape it in a way that degrades service for others, or present its contents as your own or as if they came from someone else.

Products described here

This site describes what we have built and what we are building. Product status is stated plainly and kept current: SpiffyDuck is live; RateLiftr and Mirror are in development. A product described as in development is not yet generally available, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell it, a commitment to ship it, or a promise about when it will ship or what it will cost.

When a product is available, it is provided under its own terms of service and privacy notice, published on that product’s own site. Those documents govern the product; this one does not.

Mirror provides structure for conversations couples have themselves. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, it is not therapy, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.

Trade marks and content

The Hines Industries name and lens mark, the text, the film and the photography on this site belong to us. The SpiffyDuck, RateLiftr and Mirror names and logos are marks of Hines Industries and are shown here to identify our own products. None of this grants you a licence to use any of those marks.

Links to other sites

The site links to our products’ own websites. Those are separate services with their own terms, and following a link means leaving this site.

No warranty

We keep this site accurate and we correct errors when we find them, but it is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it or reliance on it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, and the courts of Cook County, Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies.
